Mometum Workshop - The Right Direction

Penny For Your Thoughts?

Our semi-weekly blog has been missing something really important to us. As these posts make it to Facebook and Twitter we have recieved a few replies on those sites and something clicked. We didn't have a section for comments on our own blog! That has now been officially remedied and along with the fix comes another great recommendation for an online service we've found.

Disqus is a free comment system that's compatible with many popular blogging sites, and can be integrated into personal sites both large and small. Of course there's a paid upgrade available, Disqus VIP, for really large discussion communities, but so far the free version seems to be doing the job well.

The best thing about blogging, in this author's humble opinion, is being able to get instant feedback from your readers on what you've got to say. This not only enables them to vent or share or relate to whatever they're reading, but it allows us to learn from the discussion that ensues. Writing a blog is the starting point of the evolution of ideas -in a written form, of course. We write to let you know how we're doing, what we've found or who we're working with and you tell us what you think of it all. That is most definitely a win/win situation.

Chances are, you may already have a Disqus profile. Upon visiting the site to learn more about the service, I discovered I had created a profile some months before while commenting on a news article I had read. There was my profile page and my history of comments (which was only one at the time). Users can connect to sites like facebook and WordPress and post whatever comments they make through Disqus on these sites or just check back and recall what they've commented on and where. If you haven't already, it's free to register and and begin the process of integrating your comment history into your online presence.

Please feel free to comment on this blog here at momentumworkshop.com and be a part of our discussion community. We'd be happy to hear what you think of it.
